How to Buy Modules and Other Equipment

The solar industry is changing fast. There are new brands on the market each day. Companies are merging, being bought by other companies, and changing names constantly. The most up-to-date information is on the internet. You can find online retailers, your local solar dealer, or local installer on the internet.

Most modules are sold through retailers, both online and the local solar dealer. However, some modules are only sold through professional installers. If you have your heart set on a particular brand, contact the manufacturer and ask who retails their modules. Use a search engine like Google.com to find the manufacturer or online dealer. Use quoted phrases to limit your search. Search for terms like "discount solar modules" or "discount photovoltics."

After you have found a number dealers, either online or local solar dealers, check them out. Do they have a physical address listed? Can you call them and get an answer? Are they helpful and answer your questions? How long have they been in business? What warranties are offered? Do they seem to have a large stock? Low prices are important, but after-sale service is also important.

Ask several dealers what modules they recommend. Remember that want to sell what they supply. Your choice will depend on price, aesthetics, availability, warranty, and the reputation of the manufacturer.
