A new version of SolarSizer, version 1.31, is available.
The new version corrects errors in the output calculation when specifying a single axis tracker. The calculations for fixed and 2-axis tracking are unchanged as they did not have any errors. The new version also corrects a problem when the spreadsheet was run on newer versions of Excel. An error was generated when using newer version of Excel, that did not allow the task “What do you want to do?” in the Input-Output tab to be changed.
The new version of SolarSizer is available to everyone who bought or buys the Solar Design book. I will be emailing those people who have contacted me or bought from this site with instructions on how to download the new version. If you feel that I may not have your email address, please contact me HERE. I can also send a CD to you with the new software if you cannot or do not want to download the new software off the internet. Just send me your address. I will pay the postage.
When using certain versions of Excel, you may get an error that states: “File error: data may have been lost.” This error is generated incorrectly by newer versions of Excel due to the hiding and protection of certain cells within the SolarSizer program. Data has NOT been lost. If you have other problems using newer versions of Excel, try using the free OpenOffice, available HERE.
